Modern College is your gateway to the career of your dreams. We specialize in providing hands-on learning experiences for students interested in esthetics, hairstyling, or barbering.
Our goal is to fully prepare you as you transition from student into the industry. We emphasize student participation in the learning process, which involves working in our fully operational clinic that simulates what it’s like to work in a real spa or salon.
What is Modern College?
We’re an Ontario Career College with three campuses, each offering diploma programs that are registered as vocational programs under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005. We are proud to offer small, personalized classes that are led by industry-experienced instructors who offer hands-on skills. Furthermore, our diploma programs are condensed into 1 year or less so students are employed sooner.

Our instructors all have experience in the industry and are here to guide you through the ins and outs of the hands-on skills you need, as well as the practical business skills for success.

Graduates from our hairstyling programs and esthetics programs have gone on to forge successful careers in the beauty industry in a variety of roles. Some of these roles include:

Fully Functioning Spa and Services
Modern College isn’t just a place where students hone their craft – it’s also a fully functioning service provider. We offer spa services and hair styling for members of our communities at a heavily discounted price.
Note: we also support our communities. We volunteer for many organizations in North Bay, Sudbury and Barrie. Offering Spa or Styling services to raise funds or awareness for our community partners.
The Curriculum and Instructors at Modern College
All of our programs are instructor led and we endeavor to hire staff that can empathize with our students and understand their needs. This includes primarily instructors with industry experience who understand the workplace and can share experience from the trenches.
All of our diploma programs meet or surpass provincial and industry guidelines. Our classrooms offer close relationships between the instructors and the classmates where everyone contributes to the learning experience.
We ensure that the students in the classroom are committed to their career choice. The more someone likes their job, the more likely they will thrive, prosper and endure in their career after graduation!
